Since the end of the XX century the village ceased to exist as a township and formed part of San Esteban de Gormaz. Here one can find the church of San Pablo where the San Bernabé chapel lay.
Atauta has a private Ethnographic museum pero, above all one should not stop passing through the village until reaching the vantage point in order to see the church and the ‘El Hondo’ (‘The Deep’) spot, interspersed with vineyards, wineries and wine-presses of a well-earned reputation.
The Dominio de Atauta Winery is distinguished by the altitude of its vineyard, located at the 1,000 m mark. However, the determining factor in the character of its wines is the diversity of land: 35 types of formation and orientation are reflected in the result.
